Tommy Pollina is an excellent company to work with. They actually tried to talk me out of some work that may have made them more money but was not necessary to solve the scope of work for my project. Joe is a seasoned veteran in the landscaping game and a pleasure to work with. Everyone in their office is helpful and easy to get a hold of it you ever need a problem solved. I highly recommend them for your landscaping or excavating needs!

I have been working with Tommy Pollina Landscaping for several years and I have been very pleased with their work. I had an issue with water accumulating in my backyard. (Mallards came to swim it was so bad!) They regraded the yard, put in a French drain and installed an ejector pump and my water problems no longer exist. Joe and his team at Tommy Pollina have done an absolutely incredible job on multiple large projects for us. First to design and install a drainage system in our backyard that hooks into the city’s storm drain system which has completely eliminated our yard’s horrible flooding problems. Second we had them design & install a brick paver patio spanning the length of an addition we put onto the back of our house. Lastly we had them completely re-grade and re-sod both the backyard and front yard after all that was finished. All massive projects on their own. Joe is a mastermind landscape architect, takes the time to get to know our family and our home, and has the skilled team to carry out the vision from start to finish. Even our neighbors can’t compliment us enough on how great it looks! Highly recommend to everyone.

We used Tommy Pollina Landscaping (Mt. Prospect, IL) to fix all of the drainage problems that we were having in our backyard and our side yard. Larry, our salesman was very thorough, which, of course we appreciated. Once the guys came to do the job, their work was GREAT!!! They were professional, hard-working and accommodating!!! Their work was EXCELLENT!!!

They worked hard, and helped us to achieve exactly what we were looking for. They laid sod in our backyard after they laid all of the PVC piping to fix the drainage issues. The sod looked really good, as did the way that they installed the PVC piping.

A huge shout out to the foreman, Alfonso, who was our main point of contact once the job began. He was understanding of our concerns and made sure that he accomplished all of our requests. After they were done, Alfonso and the team cleaned up and made our backyard and side yard look really good. During the project, to our surprise, the owner, Joe Pollina came to our house to check things out. He assured us that if we needed anything further that they would come back and fix whatever needed fixing. That was fantastic, and we really appreciated him coming out and meeting him. We used Tommy Pollina for installing better drainage in our yard and his crew did a very good job. From start to finish they worked all day and replanted new grass (seedlings) in areas that were affected. The grass is already growing back.
Tommy Pollina landscaping also trimmed our tall bushes in our yard and they now look much better.
Their crew cleaned up our yard nicely and we would definitely use their services, when needed in the future.

Tommy Pollina’s team was easy to work with, they worked with the County to follow regulations and to seek the proper permits needed. The drainage project work is great and was just in time for all the rainy weather!

We had an old French drainage system in our backyard that was no longer able to disburse the water correctly. This was causing pooling and buildup, making about a quarter of our backyard mushy and unusable.

We had 3 different companies come out to give us estimates. Not only did Tommy take cost into consideration, but his design best suited our concerns and goals. They ripped out the old drainage system and replaced it with a longer run of perforated PVC that was able to tap into an existing underground drain system. They also added a large underground flo well to handle the excess water.

They worked fast and were done in one day and cleaned up beautifully. Afterwards, we had a lot of rain in early May and the new system handled it all.

Tommy and his team gave us our backyard back. Thank you!

Tommy Pollina took expert care of my property – so much so that I renewed my service with them spring through fall and plan on doing so again for winter. If you’re on the fence about whether or not it’s worth it to hire anyone, let alone Tommy Pollina, let me tell you – IT’S WORTH IT!

Joe Pollina’s expertise with plants helped us create a lovely, unique front landscape to complement our hundred year old house. His choices were perfect for the west exposure and were strong healthy plants. His men were polite and easy to work with and always seemed to be neat and careful. The project turned out great, but it didn’t happen over night. Patience is necessary for the best results.

We hired Tommy Pollina to re-grade and re-sod our front yard. Theirs wasn’t the lowest estimate, but we’re glad we went with them.

Joe came out and assessed the project and filled us in on all of our options. He and his staff communicated exactly what would be done and when it would be done, no surprises. They tore out the old turf, rototilled the underlying soil, augmented it with additional topsoil, did a rough grade, a final grade and then laid down 380 rolls of sod. Even with the large crew he committed, the project took several days to complete.

The crew was efficient, clean and did a fantastic job. The crew chief was very professional. Joe came out midway through the project to make sure everything was proceeding as planned. He and I talked for a long time about what was being done and how to properly care for the lawn afterwards.
We couldn’t have asked for better results or a better crew and staff to work with. Very pleased.

We have been dealing with water drainage issues in the back yard and between our house and a neighbors. We always had half of our driveway covered with ice most of the winter and the backyard couldn’t be mowed till late May because of the wet and soft soil. Tommy Pollina came out and assessed the situation and put together a plan to remedy the issue. This was the first winter without ice covering the bottom half of the driveway, and the backyard was mowed several times in April. We recommend their services, listen to their proposal and do not short cut it. Great Job!!!!
